Setting up the Studio
We’ve officially acquired the space for Driftwood Studios, and it feels like such a big step forward. The past few weeks have been all about moving in furniture, browsing websites for just-right pieces, and giving the space its first touches of personality. Even small things - like washing and arranging my shell collection - make it feel alive and grounded.
It’s been a season of balancing two beautiful challenges at once: setting up the studio and raising Rue, my 13-week-old Golden Retriever. Potty training, teething, crate naps, and learning new commands have been happening right alongside assembling bookshelves and deciding where a chair should go. Somehow, the chaos of both has been fun - like I’ll look back on this time and remember how everything was happening at once…and yet it all felt exactly right.
There’s something special about building a space while building new routines. Every little detail, every small win, whether it’s Rue mastering “down” or the perfect lamp arriving in the mail, feels worth celebrating.
This is such a beautiful time in my life, and I’m taking it all in.
