Bodywork

A practice of attention.

Driftwood began with the body.

Nina’s work as a Registered Massage Therapist first gave form to many of the questions explored here. Bodywork taught her that attention is active: it involves listening, assessing, asking, adjusting, and responding to the person who is present.

Within Driftwood, bodywork is one part of a wider inquiry into embodiment - how we experience sensation, movement, comfort, tension, rest, and our relationship with the environments around us.

Nina’s clinical massage therapy practice is grounded in assessment, informed consent, and the scope of Registered Massage Therapy in British Columbia. She currently practises at Kitsilano Massage Therapy in Vancouver.
